Old Town: Venerable Chicago dive Old Town Ale House reopened Wednesday after retaining a retail food license from the city that will allow staff to serve frozen pizzas, according to the Tribune. The pies come from Warrenville-based producer Eastside Cafe. The Ale House had reopened and was subsequently shut down again in late July when city officials forbade bars without food from serving indoors. Since the original shutdown in March, manager Tim Polk, owner Tobin Mitchell, and Ale House mascot Bruce Elliott have fixed the floors, installed double-hung windows, and put in a new ventilation system, Elliott told Eater Chicago in August. There’s only indoor seating for now, but Polk told reporters that they may set out a few outdoor tables. Old Town Ale House, 219 W. North Avenue, Open 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Friday; 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday (hours are subject to change)
